The Muckross Wild Irish Spirits Company Limited

In the transformative year of 2020, nestled within Ireland’s ancient and majestic landscapes, Muckross Wild Irish Spirits Co. was born. This venture is the culmination of a shared dream between myself, Andrea Kissane, who grew up in the rugged beauty of Killarney, and Martin Wray, a dynamic mixologist from the vibrant city of Derry. Our paths converged through a shared passion for the art of spirits, and our journey began in earnest in 2018 when we started laying the groundwork for what would become a unique player in the spirits industry.

From my early days wandering the expansive, verdant landscapes of Killarney, I developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and its untamed beauty. This profound connection to my homeland has always been a source of inspiration. Martin, on the other hand, brought with him a wealth of experience from his years in Manchester, where he honed his skills creating innovative drinks in one of the UK’s most competitive mixology scenes. His flair for blending unexpected flavors and creating memorable experiences was the perfect complement to my vision of capturing the essence of Irish nature in a bottle.

Together, we embarked on the intricate process of creating Muckross Wild Irish Gin, our flagship product. Our approach is unique in the spirits market: we don’t operate a traditional distillery. Instead, we focus on crafting unique spirits, prioritizing high-quality, locally sourced botanicals that reflect the essence of the Irish landscape. Each ingredient is chosen not only for its flavor but for its ability to convey a part of our story—the story of Ireland’s wild, untamed beauty and rich cultural heritage.

The creation of Muckross Wild Irish Gin was a labor of love, a meticulous process that involved years of research, experimentation, and a commitment to crafting a spirit that resonates with both locals and connoisseurs worldwide. Launched after much anticipation, our gin features a complex blend of traditional and unique botanicals, each carefully selected to create a flavor profile that invites enthusiasts to explore the depths of Irish gin craftsmanship.

Our dedication to quality and authenticity has been recognized on the global stage. We are proud to have been awarded medals at several prestigious international spirits competitions, including the San Francisco World Spirits Challenge and the London Spirits Competition in 2021, 2022, and 2024. These accolades are not just awards; they are affirmations of our commitment to excellence and innovation in the world of spirits.
