Laura says…

After decades of teaching Aerobics/Hi-Low, Step Aerobics, the classic Legs, Bums & Tums, Aqua Aerobics, Toning and Resistance Classes, Stretch and Relaxation Classes, Group Cycling and Pilates I have now decided to add Rebounding into the mix! Unfortunately issues with my knee mean I am no longer able to teach Step Aerobics and Aerobics classes with any level of impact, so this is a great time to start rebounding!

Wherever I teach and whatever class I am teaching my aim is always to make everyone feel welcome and supported, I want people to want to exercise for life long health and wellbeing. I believe for many people; myself included; walking into a new gym, exercise class or studio for the first time is the hardest thing in the world, my aim is to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease. I believe its really important that exercising shouldn’t feel like a chore, you’ve just got to find the right form of exercise for you, only then will you stick with it and feel the real benefits rather than looking for a quick win in terms of weight loss or weight management, train because you love it! We all like different things and different styles of exercise, there is something out there for everyone. What could be more fun that bouncing on a your own little trampoline in a mini nightclub!

When I trained to become a Pilates Instructor almost 20 years ago it changed how I think, how I train myself and how I train and teach other people. Pilates for me truly brings about an awareness of what your body is doing and how to control it, the subtleties in doing Pilates will change and improve everything else you do with your body, from swinging a golf club to weight training and everything in-between. Being a Pilates Instructor impacts on how I teach all my classes, how I offer alternative exercises, how I support clients to correctly set up equipment and how to correct their posture to gain maximum gains and reduce the risk of injury.
